What is the Bridgepointe Pkwy charge on my credit card?

Facts checked

Short answer

Bridgepointe Pkwy is PlayStation. Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company that runs PlayStation, is headquartered at 2207 Bridgepointe Pkwy in San Mateo, California, and some statements now show that address instead of PlayStation Network. The charge is a PlayStation Plus renewal, a PlayStation Store purchase or a wallet top-up, often made by someone else on the console.

How it shows up on your statement

  • 2207 BRI SAN MATEO CAUS
  • 111112228027 2207 BRI SAN MATEO
  • BRIDGEPOINTE PKWY
  • SIE PLAYST SAN MATEO CA

Banks trim and reformat these, so yours may be shorter or carry a different city or number. Why charge names look strange.

Who is Bridgepointe Pkwy?

It's an address, not a company: 2207 Bridgepointe Parkway, San Mateo, California 94404. That building is the headquarters of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, the Sony company that runs PlayStation. PlayStation's terms of service name Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC as the company you contract with and give this street address for legal notices.

So a Bridgepointe Pkwy charge is a PlayStation charge with the brand name missing. Cardholders have reported it in a few shapes: "2207 BRI SAN MATEO CAUS", sometimes behind a long run of digits the bank adds, or just "Bridgepointe Pkwy". One PlayStation Plus subscriber posted in 2026 that it was the first time their statement showed the address rather than PlayStation Network.

The Bridgepointe Shopping Center a short way along the same road is a far less likely source. Its stores, Target and The Home Depot among them, bill under their own names.

Why is Bridgepointe Pkwy on my card statement?

Anything PlayStation bills can carry this name. Match the charge to your PlayStation transaction history by date rather than by amount; the third item below explains why.

  • A PlayStation Plus renewal. US prices are $10.99, $16.99 or $19.99 a month for Essential, Extra and Premium, or $79.99, $134.99 and $159.99 a year. Free trials turn into paid subscriptions on their own.
  • A PlayStation Store purchase: a game, an add-on, a season pass, a pre-order, or in-game currency such as V-Bucks or Robux bought through the Store.
  • A wallet shortfall. When the PlayStation wallet doesn't hold enough for a purchase or renewal, Sony's terms let it charge your card for the difference, so the amount may match no price in the Store.
  • A child or someone else in the house buying on a console where your card is saved. Child accounts have a monthly spending limit that starts at zero, but a child on an adult's account skips it.
  • Someone got into your PlayStation account, or your card number was used on a stranger's account.

How to cancel PlayStation charges or get a refund

Find the transaction first. Sign in at playstation.com/acct/management and open Transaction History. On a PS5 it's under Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Payment and Subscriptions.

  1. To stop a subscription, open Subscription on the same account page and choose Cancel. On a PS5, go to Payment and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions. It stays active until the next payment date.
  2. To ask for a refund, select the transaction in Transaction History and choose Request Refund, or use PlayStation's refund contact form.
  3. For a payment you didn't make, call PlayStation Support at 800-345-7669 (800-345-SONY), Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Pacific, or use its unauthorized payment form.

PlayStation's refund rules are tight. Games and add-ons qualify within 14 days of purchase, and only if you haven't started downloading or streaming them. For PlayStation Plus, only the first payment of a subscription qualifies, within 14 days, never a renewal. Wallet top-ups can't be cancelled at all. Approved refunds take 30 to 60 days.

What if you never bought anything from PlayStation?

Check every account the card could be saved on before you call the bank.

  • Open Transaction History on each PlayStation account that might hold your card: yours, an old one, your kids' consoles, a partner's.
  • Look for a subscription you forgot about, especially an annual PlayStation Plus plan or a trial that converted.
  • If you think someone is in your account, change your email password first, then sign out of PlayStation on all devices and remove your card from the account.
  • If you have no PlayStation account at all, contact PlayStation Support straight away, then report the charge to your card issuer as fraud and get a new card number. Your card was probably used on someone else's account.

Know this before you dispute: PlayStation suspends the account or console tied to a chargeback while it investigates, and if the chargeback had no lawful basis, the account stays suspended until the debt is repaid. If the charge was your kid's purchase, use PlayStation's refund route first.

Still don’t recognize it? Dispute it with your bank

  1. Open the transaction in your banking app. The detail view often shows a longer merchant name, a phone number or a city that the statement line cuts off.
  2. Ask the merchant for a refund first. It is usually faster than a dispute, and your card issuer may ask whether you tried.
  3. If the merchant says no, or you think your card number was stolen, call the number on the back of your card. Ask them to dispute the charge and, if it is fraud, to cancel the card and send a new one.
  4. For a credit card, follow up in writing. The FTC says your letter should reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you, at the billing inquiries address rather than the payments address.

Federal law caps what you owe for unauthorized credit card charges at $50. Debit cards work differently: if only your card number was used, you owe nothing as long as you report it within 60 days after the statement is sent, but the money is gone from your account while the bank looks into it. See the FTC's guide to lost or stolen cards. A successful dispute becomes a chargeback against the merchant.

Questions people ask

What is 2207 BRI San Mateo on my credit card?
PlayStation. 2207 Bridgepointe Pkwy in San Mateo, California is the headquarters of Sony Interactive Entertainment, and some statements shorten the street name to BRI.
Why did PlayStation charge me $79.99?
$79.99 is the US price of a 12-month PlayStation Plus Essential plan, so that charge is almost always an annual renewal. Cancel it from Subscription in your PlayStation account; it stays active until the renewal date.
Why doesn't the charge match any price in the PlayStation Store?
When your PlayStation wallet is short, Sony charges the card only for the difference needed to finish the purchase or renewal. Match the charge by date in Transaction History.
Can I get a refund for PlayStation Plus?
Only for the first payment of a subscription, within 14 days, and the amount may be cut for time used. Renewals don't qualify under PlayStation's cancellation policy.
Will disputing a PlayStation charge get my account suspended?
Yes, at least while PlayStation investigates. If the chargeback has no lawful basis, the account stays suspended until the debt is repaid. That doesn't matter if your card was used on an account that isn't yours.
