What is the Astro Bargain charge on my credit card?
Facts checked
Short answer
Astro Bargain is an online store at astrobargain.com run by Summit Marketing Group LLC of Sheridan, Wyoming. Its terms set a VIP Membership at $29.99 every 30 days, and most people who find the charge first bought something small from a social media ad, often a paw print keychain from its PawKeys shop. You cancel through a form, by email or by phone.
How it shows up on your statement

- ASTRO BARGAIN
Banks trim and reformat these, so yours may be shorter or carry a different city or number. Why charge names look strange.
Who is Astro Bargain?
Astro Bargain is a Shopify store at astrobargain.com with a broad, generic catalog: furniture, clothes, electronics and cheap digital downloads such as Canva templates and budget spreadsheets. Its contact page names the business as Summit Marketing Group LLC, at 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 8972 in Sheridan, Wyoming, with the phone number (855) 772-8816.
The part that matters for your statement is section 20 of its terms of service, a VIP Membership: "you will be charged $29.99 Now and every 30 days thereafter until you cancel your subscription." The store also runs PawKeys, which sells paw print and dog remembrance keychains through Instagram and Facebook ads. The PawKeys terms bill the same $29.99 fee every 30 days.
It has nothing to do with astrobargains.com, with an s, which sells astronomy equipment.
Why is Astro Bargain on my card statement?
Almost always it's the $29.99 membership. Complaints on BBB Scam Tracker, Trustpilot and Reddit tell the same story: someone buys a small item from an ad, most often the PawKeys keychain, and then a separate $29.99 charge starts arriving every month.
- The membership was added at checkout. According to people who complained, Astro Bargain's position is that the buyer ticked a checkbox and was sent a VIP Club welcome email. Many buyers say they never chose it.
- It ran for months before anyone noticed. A BBB Scam Tracker report from May 2026 describes six monthly $29.99 charges after a keychain bought in January.
- The store name didn't match what you bought. One Trustpilot reviewer bought a keychain through what looked like an Etsy listing; others bought on another site and only later saw astrobargain on the statement.
Astro Bargain's terms say members get an email 5 to 7 days before each charge, so check your spam folder for one.
How to cancel Astro Bargain and get a refund
There's no cancel button in an account. Cancelling goes through a form or support, so keep proof of every request.
- Fill out the form at astrobargain.com/pages/vip-unsubscribe and write "Cancel My Membership" in the message box. The page says the team will cancel before your next billing.
- Email support@astrobargain.com at the same time, from the address you ordered with, so there's a written record.
- Or call (855) 772-8816. If you ordered from PawKeys, its terms give 1 (888) 325-2295 and ask you to cancel at least 3 days before the next billing date with your full name, email and address.
- Ask in writing for a refund of every membership charge and say you didn't knowingly sign up.
The refund rules contradict each other. The main store's refund policy covers returns of physical items within 30 days, refunded within 10 business days, and says nothing about the membership. The PawKeys terms say all sales are final, membership included. Some people report refunds after pushing back by email; others only got their money back through a bank dispute.
What if you never bought anything from Astro Bargain?
The first purchase is easy to forget, so look for it before you dispute.
- Ask whether anyone with your card bought a paw print keychain, a keepsake or any small item from an Instagram, Facebook or TikTok ad in the past year.
- Search email, spam included, for Astro Bargain, Astrobargain, PawKeys, VIP Club and Shopify order confirmations.
- Go back through older statements and count every $29.99 charge. You'll want the full list for a refund request or a dispute.
- If you never ordered from them at all, call your card issuer, report the charges as unauthorized and ask for a new card number, which also stops the next $29.99.
If you did order but never meant to join, dispute the membership charges as a recurring charge you didn't agree to and explain what happened at checkout. You can also report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. We found no action against Astro Bargain by the FTC, a state attorney general or a court, so what's described here comes from customer complaints, not findings.
Still don’t recognize it? Dispute it with your bank
- Open the transaction in your banking app. The detail view often shows a longer merchant name, a phone number or a city that the statement line cuts off.
- Ask the merchant for a refund first. It is usually faster than a dispute, and your card issuer may ask whether you tried.
- If the merchant says no, or you think your card number was stolen, call the number on the back of your card. Ask them to dispute the charge and, if it is fraud, to cancel the card and send a new one.
- For a credit card, follow up in writing. The FTC says your letter should reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you, at the billing inquiries address rather than the payments address.
Federal law caps what you owe for unauthorized credit card charges at $50. Debit cards work differently: if only your card number was used, you owe nothing as long as you report it within 60 days after the statement is sent, but the money is gone from your account while the bank looks into it. See the FTC's guide to lost or stolen cards. A successful dispute becomes a chargeback against the merchant.
