A B2B SaaS billing and revenue operations platform that adds subscription management and ASC 606 revenue recognition on top of your existing payment gateway.
Maxio is a B2B SaaS billing and revenue operations platform. Battery Ventures brought Chargify and SaaSOptics together in April 2021 and the combined company rebranded as Maxio in 2022, backed by more than $150 million of growth equity. Chargify contributed the subscription and usage billing engine, now sold as Advanced Billing, while SaaSOptics contributed revenue recognition and SaaS metrics reporting. Maxio acquired RevOps.io in 2025. The company is based in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and says it serves over 2,000 customers and around $20 billion in annual SaaS and AI billings.
Maxio publishes two bands. The Grow plan is $599 per month for businesses under $100,000 in monthly billings, and the Scale plan is a custom quote above that threshold. Annual billing is the default, monthly and quarterly payment carries a premium, and multi-year terms attract discounts. Seats are unlimited on every plan. Modules including Advanced Revenue Management, A/R Management, expense amortization, milestone-based projects, multi-entity support, event-based billing and EU hosting are priced separately, so a mid-market finance team usually lands well above the sticker price. Card processing is a separate line: Maxio Payments is sold on interchange-plus pricing, but the markup is not published.
Maxio targets B2B software and AI companies that have outgrown spreadsheets and need auditable ASC 606 and IFRS 15 revenue schedules sitting alongside billing. It fits finance and accounting teams preparing for an audit, a raise or an exit far better than it fits a self-serve consumer app.
Maxio is not a card acquirer and does not issue merchant accounts on its own. It sits above the payment layer and routes charges to gateways including Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Authorize.Net, Worldpay, Square, GoCardless and PayPal, storing gateway tokens rather than raw card numbers. Maxio Payments is an optional in-house processing product for merchants who want one vendor. Buyers should benchmark Maxio against billing platforms such as Chargebee, Recurly and Zuora, not against processors.
