UK subscription billing platform that charged a base monthly fee plus a small percentage of billed revenue above a free allowance.
Billsby is a subscription billing platform launched in 2018 and operated by Billsby Limited, incorporated on 31 March 2017 with a registered office at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London. It does what a billing layer does: products, plans and cycles, add-ons and allowances, coupons, invoicing and credit notes, dunning, sales tax automation, an embeddable checkout and a customer self-service portal. What set it apart was the pricing shape: a modest base fee plus a small cut of the revenue it billed above a free monthly allowance.
Its current condition has to be stated before anything else. As of 31 July 2026 the whole of billsby.com returns an Azure Static Web Apps 404, pricing page included. The trial registration endpoint that the support site links to returns an nginx 404, so no new account can be opened. status.billsby.com resolves to a decommissioned Statuspage. The newest post on the support changelog is roughly three years old. Companies House records a first Gazette notice for compulsory strike-off against Billsby Limited on 26 May 2026, suspended on 17 June 2026, with accounts for the year to 31 March 2025 still overdue at both Billsby Limited and Billsby Holdings Limited. The dashboard at app.billsby.com and the documentation site still load, so existing merchants are not locked out, but the company is not visibly selling or shipping.
The vendor's own price list is unreachable, so these figures come from third-party records rather than Billsby. Capterra and GetApp both log the Core plan at $35 per month flat rate, with a one-month trial, unlimited products and users, multi-currency and multiple gateways, and 0.4% charged on revenue above a $15,000 monthly allowance. Independent reviewers list Core at $45 per month on the same 0.4% and $15,000 terms, plus a Pro plan at $135 per month whose larger allowance is reported variously at $30,000 and $50,000. A Custom tier sat above that. Read the base fee as $35 to $45 and the overage as 0.4% of billed revenue, and treat every one of those numbers as unverifiable until the pricing page comes back. None of it includes card processing.
The design target was small subscription businesses that wanted a hosted checkout and a self-service portal without building either. The revenue share is kind at low volume, since a merchant billing under $15,000 a month pays only the base fee, and it bites above that: 0.4% on $200,000 of monthly billings adds $800 to a $45 invoice. Capterra rates the product 4.6 across 17 reviews. That average hides a split: warm reviews from 2020, hostile ones from 2026. On the evidence above, nobody should start a new implementation here.
Billsby's own documentation is blunt about it: "We're not a payment gateway, we're a subscription management system that handles recurring billing, invoicing, and lifecycle management for your customers." It holds no card data: the Billsby Vault runs on Spreedly and stores tokens only. Charges route to a gateway you bring, from a list covering Stripe, Braintree, Adyen, Checkout.com, Authorize.net, NMI, IXOPAY, CloverConnect and PaymentCloud. Your card rate is set by that gateway and its acquirer, never by Billsby. ACH is offered in beta. Your base currency is fixed at registration and cannot be changed later, though you can bill in additional currencies and point each at a different gateway.

Third-party listings record a Core plan at $35 to $45 per month plus 0.4% of revenue above a $15,000 monthly allowance, and a Pro plan at $135 per month with a larger allowance. Billsby's own pricing page has been offline since at least July 2026, so none of it can be confirmed with the vendor.
