RBI-licensed Indian payment aggregator for online, offline and cross-border collections, with payouts and reconciliation on the same platform.
Easebuzz is a Pune payments company founded in 2014 by Rohit Prasad and Vikram Kumar and commercially live since 2016. It is not reselling somebody else's gateway. The Reserve Bank of India issued it Certificate of Authorisation No. 252/2025 on 19 November 2025, covering online payment aggregation, offline acceptance through POS terminals and UPI soundboxes, and cross-border inward and outward payments. That followed in-principle approval in 2022 and online payment aggregator authorisation in February 2025. The company says it serves more than 250,000 merchants across education, real estate, ecommerce, SaaS and travel, and handles around three million transactions a day at annualised gross transaction value above $50 billion. It reported INR 656 crore of revenue and INR 19 crore of net profit in FY2024-25. It raised a $30 million Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners in April 2025 and employs roughly 480 people across six offices.
Easebuzz does not publish a per-method rate card. Its pricing page gives one average, about 1.5% per transaction across cards, UPI, netbanking and wallets, with no setup fee and no annual maintenance charge, then hands you to sales for a quote tied to business category and monthly volume. SoftwareSuggest lists the API rates as 1.2% on debit cards, 2.2% on credit cards, 2% on netbanking and 2.4% on wallets, with a flat 2.5% on the payment link and webstore products, but those are directory figures rather than a vendor commitment. The number that changes the arithmetic most is on none of those lists. Under Section 10A of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act 2007, UPI person-to-merchant payments settled bank to bank and RuPay debit cards have carried a zero merchant discount rate since 1 January 2020. An aggregator can still bill a platform or service fee on those transactions, and many do, but there is no network MDR to pass through. Because UPI carries the majority of Indian retail volume for most merchants, the effective blended cost usually sits well below the card headline. Settlement is T+1 working day as standard, with instant and same-day settlement offered on request. Refunds reach the customer roughly six to seven business days after the request reaches the acquiring bank.
Indian businesses that collect recurring or high-frequency payments and want one vendor for acceptance, payouts and reconciliation. Education is the strongest vertical, through the FeesBuzz fee-collection product, followed by real estate, direct-to-consumer ecommerce and SaaS. The cross-border half of the licence also makes it a reasonable pick for exporters and SaaS firms billing overseas customers. It accepts 30+ currencies from more than 100 countries and settles into an Indian account in INR.
It is not a global processor. Merchants have to be Indian entities settling to an Indian bank account, and even international collections land in rupees, so a business incorporated anywhere else cannot use it. It is also not permanently insulated from card economics. The zero-MDR advantage exists only on UPI and RuPay debit, and that regime is under active review: the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance recommended in a March 2026 report that MDR return for large merchants, and the Payments Council of India has pushed a tiered 0.30% proposal. No binding notification has followed. Price your card and UPI mix as though one might.
